Hello the Camp,

3/23/2021 - The Paiute Mountain Buckskinners are happy to announce that since the Centers for Disease Control has eased restrictions and the COVID thing is becoming more controlled we are ready and looking forward to our upcoming rendezvous. Naturally, we would expect everybody to observe safety precautions but at the same time having a fun time. Let’s look forward to seeing some old friends again and also meeting some new friends. As usual there will be some good things going on and one or two new things. We at Paiute Mountain Buckskinners are looking forward to seeing y’all at rendezvous April 10th – 18th.

2/2/2021 - As you know our 2nd annual Paiute Mountain Buckskinners rendezvous was cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic setback last year. However, we have been preparing for a belated 2nd for this year hoping that with the leveling out and slow decrease in the rate of infection we can go ahead with our rendezvous. Bearing in mind our campsite is on private property, about 60 acres in total, there is plenty of room to where we don’t need to be camped right next door to our neighbors. We will, however, strongly recommend the practice of social distancing and in the case of meetings and get togethers we use extreme caution.
Just like our last rendezvous there will be daily events, things for the kids to do, also seminars (rocky mountain demonstrations) and lots of good stuff for the raffle, we also look forward to seeing a good selection of traders. As a further precaution we will not be having the usual ‘pot luck’ dinner. This year we will be adding something new with a truly primitive camp, set up by some of the American Mountain Men brothers who also will be doing primitive type demonstrations. All are welcome to browse through their camp and get an idea how the original fur trappers and mountain men used to camp.
All those campers that pre-registered for last year’s rendezvous, the registration fee is carried over to this year’s event. If for some reason we have to cancel again, (I hope not), you will be notified no later than March 20th so please keep a watch of our Here on our website or Paiute Mountain Rendezvous on Facebook for any other news.
Hope to see y’all April 10th to 18th.
